then scroll down to Quizzes. Complete two of them. Tell which two

you all 570 headwords of the Academic Word List, with definitions,
pronunciation, and example-sentences. Find ten words you don’t
know, copy and paste them into a Word document for your own
computer, and then repeat the meanings, the pronunciation, and the
example-sentences for each. Give your teacher a list of the ten (but
don’t print the Word document).
Log onto http://www.academicvocabularyexercises.com/#what. This
site provides exercises for different Sublists of the Academic Word
List. Click on a Sublist, click on the List of Words, and then click on
two exercises and do them. Tell which exercises you did.
Write for 30 minutes about a topic of your choice, double-spacing
your paper. It should be at least 3 paragraphs long. When you finish,
re-read it carefully for grammar. Underline the subject of each
sentence once, and double-underline the verb. Make sure that each
verb has a subject. Try to choose the best tense for each very. Find
and correct any other kinds of grammar problems in your sentences.
Do your best. Attach your paper to this form and hand it in.

article of your choice. Write a summary of the article. Hand in a
copy of the original article along with your typed summary.
Remember that a summary is much shorter than the original and that
nothing should be copied.

Go online to <https//www.smithsonian.com/videos> Use the search
box for any topic of interest, click on the video and listen. Then
write a short summary of what you heard and saw. You may also
choose the videos exhibited on the first page under the search bar.

There is a selection of interview on current topics with experts and
parties of interest in the topic. The interviews come from the
program called ‘Crosscurrents’ that is broadcast in the San Francisco
Bay area. Report five interesting facts that you didn’t know that you
learned from listening to one interview. Another way to use this link
is to write a summary paragraph about an interview.
