Proposal to be submitted electronically in a single PDF document in the following order:
Certification of Proposal (COP)
For re-submission proposals only: A one-page introduction that explains the new features of the revised proposal and responds specifically to the reviewers’ critiques
Summary abstract (maximum 1 page)
Scientific plan (maximum 4 single-spaced pages) organized as follows: Specific aims, Background, Experimental plan, Significance
Optional: Tables, figures and legends (maximum 2 pages)
Literature citations
Budget & Budget Justification for first year (use NIH form
– NOT the modular format)
Description of cost-sharing from departmental, school or other sources
Plan for seeking outside grant support including specific agencies and timetable.
Letter from Department Chair describing the applicant, recruitment plan, and career development plan. (This signed letter should be scanned and inserted into the PDF document.)
Applicant's biographical sketch (use NIH format)
Applicant’s Other Support (use NIH format) (NOTE: M entor’s Other Support is not required)
Comment on the qualifications and role of the mentor
