2013-2014 Executive Board Officer Application Thank you for your interest in applying to be a 2013-2014 Greek Affairs Executive Board Officer. The positions on the Greek Affairs Executive Board are ones of great leadership, commitment, and privilege in serving our four Greek organizations, the Greek community at large, and University of Illinois Springfield. This application has several parts—the application form, 4 short answer questions, and a recommendation form to be completed by a UIS faculty or staff member. Please include the recommendation in a sealed envelope. Each applicant must also attach an unofficial transcript, to be viewed for GPA verification only, and then discarded. Once all applications are submitted, the current Greek Affairs President will review them, ratify the qualification of each applicant, and create a voting slate to be sent to the Greek Affairs General Body. Each qualifying applicant will also be asked to give a short speech (1-3 minutes) on their goals and intentions as a new Executive Board member, during the General Body meeting on September 12th, April 3:30pm. All applicants for the Greek Affairs Executive Board must have a minimum of a 2.50 GPA. Applicants for President and Vice-President must be Greek Affairs Board members for one full year before elections. Applicants for President may NOT serve simultaneously as the President of their chapter. Secretary shall keep the minutes of the council meetings and distribute copies of the minutes to all member organizations prior to each meeting. The Secretary will be responsible for compiling the official calendar of the Board by the end of the first month of official Board meetings. The Secretary will also keep a running tally of attendance at all meetings and functions. B. Parliamentarian shall keep records of the constitution and all amendments as well as maintain in order all meetings using Robert’s Rule of Order as a reference point. The Parliamentarian shall also be responsible for the preparation and presentation of contractual agreements between member organizations and the Council. He/she is also responsible for acknowledging speakers. C. Chair of Committees is responsible for the goals stated in the committee descriptions as shown in the Greek Affairs Board bylaws (Can be found on their UIS website). They are also responsible for providing reports about their committees to the Council. D. A general member of the Executive Board shall serve as one of the Council’s two representatives on the Late Nite Committee. In the event that members of the Executive Board are unable to serve on this committee because of ACADEMIC CONFLICTS, both members will be elected at large from the general body.
