ELIGIBILITY FOR LEARNING DISABILITIES SERVICES Community college students must meet the California Community College Learning Disabilities eligibility criteria by demonstrating average to above average intellectual potential. A processing deficit, as measured by various diagnostic procedures, must be present. For a student to be eligible there must also be a severe discrepancy between the student's intellectual aptitude and academic performance in one or more of the following areas: ♦ Writing skills ♦ Written expression ♦ Reading skills ♦ Reading comprehension ♦ Mathematical calculation ♦ Mathematical reasoning
