Module 4 – June 29- July 5th Students in EDUC 1300 have learned in Modules One through Three how to plot, map, and prepare for their own scholarly journeys and future careers. In Module 4, they will begin the process of setting out on those individual journeys by preparing a Career Plan. Students will create a document that demonstrates the way forward on the path between being a college freshman and becoming a successful member of their own chosen professions. This document will include: College/University Selection and Success; Program/Degree Selection; Graduate School Options; Professional Networking; and Internships. Money Management; Debt Amelioration Plans; and Budgeting for Life. Personal Wellness and Responsibility; Time and Stress Management; and Work/Life Balance. Post Graduate Management of Debt. This paper must be written in APA Format, including a References Page and in-text citations. It must include an introduction that provides a clear topic and focus of the paper; a body that details information from the above list as it pertains to their personal plan; and their current resume (as figure 1) and their anticipated resume – post graduate/ early career (as figure 2). Due Saturday, July 4th < 10:00PM Readings: Sherfield, Moody Chapters 11, 14, and 15. Personal Ancillary Assignments: Budget Worksheet and Economic Readiness Assessment (Sherfield, Moody p. 261, 262) Tuesday June 30th < 6:00PM The Career Self-Study Plan (Sherfield, Moody p. 349-352). Due Wednesday July 1st < 8:00PM. A copy of their current resume. Due Thursday, July 2nd < 8:00PM. Preparation for the Module 4 Project Assignment will include: Selection of at least two colleges or universities that offer the student’s chosen major. One must be a public institution inside Texas, the other public or private – outside of Texas. Students must include the name of the institution, location, degree program, and a link to that institution’s website. Due Thursday, July 2 < 6:00PM. A Paying For College Plan that includes possible scholarships, student loan information, workstudy opportunities, and summer internships. Students will locate one college or university, career path, or post graduate career choice for which all or part of their college tuition/student debt is paid or reimbursed.
