Suggestion Committee update – Susan Scollon

1.

The Committee is working on resolution for all previous, unresolved suggestions. All parties have been contacted and we are waiting for responses and, hopefully, resolutions.

2.

Two new suggestions submitted in April:

Description: Accident reports

Suggestion: As our university strives to be more sustainable, I would like to suggest that accident reports are completed through an online system and we eliminate the use of paper. The current form creates 6 copies per accident reported. This is a lot of paper. Also by submitting them online they can go directly to human resources, public safety and EHS, each of which receives a carbon copy which is not always readable. I feel this would be a more efficient way of reporting accidents.

Action taken: Emailed to Ray Duffy, director of Benefits, Human Resources

Description: Computer Room

Suggestion: As more and more of our work and personal life requires a computer, it would be most useful if a small, secure room could be set up with a few computers for use by nonadmin staff (e.g., custodial, facilities) the room should be locked with access by wildcard 24/7.

Action taken: Emailed to Steve Fugale, VP for Technology and CIO.

Staff Recognition Committee – Jen Whinney

The Staff Recognition Committee met with the Awards Committee and will continue to collaborate with them.

Villagnome

Richard “Recyclin’ Ric” Laudenslager of Maintenance Services is this month’s recipient of the Villagnome.

Recyclin Ric is a beloved member of our Villanova Community and the USC would like to recognize him for all of his hard work. Be sure to keep an eye out in Campus Currents for Ric’s Recyclin' Ric's Tip of the Week!
