An act to allocate up to $2500 from ASNAU Budget (Senate Bill Line) for NAU Percussion
Society for the purpose attending PASIC from November 13 to November 17, 2013.
Whereas: 4 members will be attending PASIC; (Percussive Arts Society International
Convention) from Wednesday, November 13th through Sunday November 17th, 2013.
PASIC 2013 is held at Indianapolis, Indiana.
Whereas: The members are paying for their own convention registration fee, meals, gas
to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
Whereas: Meals will cost $150 per person, $20 for gas and their registration fee is
between $130 and $160 dollars, each.
Whereas: The students are requesting funding to pay for the hotel, which is 2 rooms for
a total of $820.00 (for 4 nights), and for airfare at a total of $1346.40 for 4 people, each,
and $360.60 for one person.
Whereas: The students will be attending seminars, lectures, master classes, recitals,
and concerts (both professional and collegiate), learning and acquiring tangible
materials and general information all through the weekend. The attendees will be
bringing back to NAU first-rate experiences, cutting-edge performance concepts,
advanced knowledge of skill sets, and personal encounters with artistic leaders in their
field – music and world percussion, sharing their collective information and experiences
with the remaining students who were not able to go, as well as anyone who is
interested!
Whereas: This is a rare life-time opportunity for many of the students and is a superb
way to get NAU’s name and students visible in a national venue.
