An act to allocate up to $2500 from the ASNAU Budget (Senate Bill Line) for the
purpose of the NAU Saxophone Society to host the 2013 Single Reed Symposium.
Whereas: The Single Reed Symposium will host approximately 100 guests. It will be
held on September 7.
Whereas: The Single Reed Symposium brings high profile guest musicians to NAU to
hold recitals and teach master classes to students of music from around the state.
Whereas: The total cost of the event is expected to be $4500. The NAU Saxophone
Society is providing $1500. The $2500 will be used for guest speaker fees, as well as
rooms for guest musicians at the Drury Inn.
Whereas: This event is expected to bring positive attention to the School of Music at
Northern Arizona University, and will show NAU to prospective students. The event
brings educational and cultural experience to students of the School of Music.
Be it enacted by the Associated Students of Northern Arizona University that:
