Backup/Maintenance
Many backup and maintenance features are associated with our database. An
incremental backup will take place at the end of each school day to back up the data that
has changed from the last backup process. At the end of every month, a full backup will
be performed to backup all of the data in the system. To prevent data loss or alteration,
input controls are used. Input controls will also prevent the GIGO situation. Processing
controls will allow only authorized users access to the information in certain programs.
To ensure that that outputs are sent only to authorized personnel, output controls are
utilized. In addition, a firewall is in place and the database is encrypted.
