The meeting was opened at 10:35 a.m. by Bill Schneider. Minutes of September 19 were approved with one correction in the last paragraph, that the vice president made the statement during the area council meeting. 2. Committee Reports – no reports 3. Janice Thanks to all who have helped with Compton. The second batch of financial aid checks was run for Compton. The Compton Provost is very appreciative of the assistance. Compton has 184 students receiving financial aid checks. No negative information has come back. The next thing that has to be done for Compton is getting balances from June 30 on PeopleSoft. The Compton Accounting Office now has a staff of 4. No additional people are planned, they do not have enough students to hire additional staff. On December 15, Compton is turning off their old student system and bringing everything on to Datatel that needs to be on the system, no more working on two systems. Satish is working with the bank to get information supplied. Be sure to get forms to Janice for any work done for Compton, Angie will make every effort to get payments made by the 10th of the month payroll. Classified Service Awards will be held on October 24. The office can be locked so everyone can attend. Health Benefits Advisory – anyone with dependents must verify the information with the American Fidelity auditors. Each person must make an appointment directly with American Fidelity. If this is not taken care of, dependent coverage will stop. They are doing the Section 125 sign-ups at the same time. After the fall semester ends, the rest of the Humanities building will be coming down, this includes the deli. The Bookstore is putting on their web site for students to order books on line. Initially books must be picked up, eventually they will be able to ship books. Negotiations on the classified contract will be starting, current contract ends December 06. In two years ECC will be visited by an accreditation team and we must do program review. Cashiering, payroll, survey financial aid, financial reporting,, help is needed to prepare for this. Procedures can be reviewed in our office. 4. Momi requested that Janice keep her calendar up to date and available to the staff. Also requested was that people advise the reception desk when they will be out. 5. Agenda Development Start making holiday plans Marie Yatman will chair the meeting. The meeting closed at 10:55 a.m.
