There are spaces available in Horticulture 46, Anatomy and Physiology 34B, Chemistry 20, Geography 1, Geography 8, Geology 3, Geology 34, and Physics 12 El Camino Compton Center, there are spaces available in Astronomy 12, Biology 15, Geology 1, Geology 3, and Geology 15, Physics 11, Physics 12, Physics 1B, Physics 1C State Budget A handout was distributed listing the three possible budget cuts and briefly discussed. Faculty will be asked for suggestions on areas to cut, conference funds, student help, etc. SLO Assessment Plan and Assessments for Spring – 4 year plans due Jim Noyes is the Natural Sciences SLO facilitator; contact him with any questions or assistance needed Jean Shankweiler asked for volunteers to replace Jenny Simons; release time will be given The four year plan is due March 18, 2011. Earth Science and Chemistry 4-year plans are done. Biology completed their assessment for Fall 2010, now it needs to be entered in CurricuUNET Assess SLOs from the completed list within the 4 year plan; use CurricuUNET During Spring, 2011 report the SLOs that you plan to assess 1 Unit Plan Department plans were done in December, 2010, they will be included in the unit plan Faculty were asked to include equipment, chairs, grants, technician needs, printers, etc in the unit plans Volunteers for planning are needed. Matt Ebiner, Perry Hacking, Chuck Herzig, Norm Kadomoto, Jessica Padilla, Teresa Palos, and Rob Shibao volunteered. SB 1440 – Implementation: Associate Degrees for Transfer The Geology degree requirements will be reviewed, any suggestions are to be submitted to Jean Shankweiler Volunteers are needed to review the Pre-Medicine and Pre-Optometry degrees Announcement Faculty are required to complete a 2 hour sexual harassment class online Rosters/No Shows/Active Enrollment Faculty will print their own rosters. Registration for the Spring, 2011 semester will continue through February 11, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. Faculty are to complete their no show reports and active enrollment reports online Faculty were asked to check their rosters to verify that students are enrolled after they are given an add sticker. There will be NO LATE ADDS Class Syllabi and office paperwork Faculty were asked to submit their office hours to Mariam by February 16, 2011, send an electronic copy of their syllabi to Priscilla at pbaldwin@elcamino.edu, and submit their laboratory schedules to the laboratory technicians. Office Hours Jean Shankweiler asked faculty to post their class schedules and office hours on their office door Faculty were asked to make sure classroom doors are locked after classes are over Club Advisors Students are required to schedule club meetings through the Student Development Office and then the Student Development Office will contact the Division office to reserve a room for the club meetings. The club advisors are required to be present during each club meeting. 2 TB Test TB tests are required every 4 years. The TB test can be administered at the Health Center at no charge, on the El Camino College campus Grade Change The grade change process was discussed. A grade change petition could be submitted for the following reasons: 1. Instructor error, 2. Bad faith, 3. Incompetence, 4. Incomplete.
