Division Updates
Adult Re-Entry
 Yolanda Dawson submitted the Accomplishments and Issues report, demographics
report, and book vouchers report to Dr. Smith. Yolanda is still seeing students for their
student educational plan.
Transfer Center
Spring Evening Fair
 Yesterday’s Spring Evening Fair was a success. There were 19 university reps at the fair.
Evening students appreciated having this fair. It was suggested to target evening faculty
in the future.
Black College Fair
 Black College Fair is scheduled for tomorrow, April 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on
the library lawn. Twenty university representatives from various historically black
colleges plan to attend. The Transfer Center will be picking up students from ECC
Compton Center to attend the fair.
Northern California Tour (April 7, 8, 9)
 There were 57 of 62 students who articipated in the Northern California Tour to UC
Davis, UC Berkeley, San Francisco State, and UC Santa Cruz. Blanca Prado, Theresa
Barragan, Griselda Castro, and Rene Lozano were in charge of the tour. These campuses
provided various tours, admissions presentations and other workshops for students.
Transfer Conference
 Transfer Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 2 in the Marsee Auditorium. There
were 300 students from FYE signed up for the conference and 50 students signed up at
the Transfer Center, however, there is no final total as yet. Puente, EOP&S, CalWORKS
were also targeted for this conference. Theresa Barragan and Blanca Prado made
classroom announcements to promote the event.
Student Enhancement Program (SEP)
 According to Maribel Hernandez, the Matriculation schedule for May is completed and
will start working on the summer Matriculation schedule soon.
 Maribel Hernandez and Griselda Castro will be training the new part-time counselors on
Matriculation and Student Enhancement workshops.
 Maribel Hernandez is currently developing a timeline to present to the Committee
regarding student dismissal for summer session. She will meet with the committee
regarding dropping students who did not submit dismissal petitions versus students who
submitted them. She would like to ask Admissions to drop those students who did not
submit.

New Student Welcome Day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20. Maribel Hernandez
is currently asking staff to join the committee. She has asked Theresa Barragan and
Blanca Prado to be part of the committee.
Student planners have been ordered and Maribel anticipates receiving them the first week
of June and 500 postcards will be delivered soon.
Angie Eke will follow-up with Arvid Spor regarding t-shirts for New Student Welcome
Day.
Special Resource Center
 Kate Beley will do a workshop called, “Creating Accessible Handouts, Flyers, and
Documents,” on May 20, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Special Resource Center.
