Instructions: Since you are creating an online service site, your website design defines your
company’s identity. For this assignment, create two prototypes for your website either by drawing,
using Word, etc. Write down the strong points and weak points of both of these to define a template
for your website. Create the HTML file and use “CTRL” + “Prnt Scrn” to get a screenshot.
Keep in mind general usability guidelines, which according to usabilityfirst.com will assist in:
1. Increased end-user satisfaction
2. Increased end-user productivity, success, and completion
3. Reduced long-term development costs (costs incurred from fixing poorly designed products)
4. Reduced training and support costs
5. Return business to improve your competitiveness
Steps Involved:
Step 1: Requirements Analysis
- Determine goals from perspective of the user
- Determine user needs
- Evaluate competing website designs
Step 2: Conceptual Design
- Sketch site design and architecture (navigation)
Step 3: Mockups / Prototypes
- Create visual representations (mockups) or interactive representations
- Test mockups
