The committee reviewed and approved a request from Geospatial Technology. Removal of GIS240, Air Photo Interpretation from Advanced Certificate in Geographic Information Science – Geospatial Specialist (C40220-C2) 2. Rodney Jackson provided the committee with a background, history and rational of the request from Surveying Technology. The committee reviewed and approved the request from Surveying Technology. Create subject areas within Surveying Technology to better serve student needs. 3. Laura Bazan provided the committee with an explanation, background and rational of a request for new ACA courses. The committee reviewed and approved the request from ACA. Add ACA 112, Intro to Distance Learning and ACA 122, College Transfer Success in the course offerings of ACA. 4. The committee reviewed and approved a request from Sustainability Technologies. To add five new certificates: Renewable Energy, Green Building, Sustainable Manufacturing, Environmental Engineering and Geospatial. This approval was predicated upon the request for Geospatial to remove technology from the name of their certificates. The committee felt that Technology is traditionally associated with the nomenclature of degrees granted and could be confusing for students. 5. The committee reviewed and approved a request from Manufacturing Technology. To add MEC 130, Mechanisms, MEC 155, Env Benign Manufacturing; ICS 120, Industrial Ecology; ICS 220, Lean Manufacturing and ELC 117E, Motors and Controls to their Program of Study as technical electives. 6. The committee reviewed and approved requests from Electrical Engineering. 2 To add ELC 171E, Motors and Controls, MEC 130, Mechanisms and ATR 211, Robot Programming to the technical elective pick list. Delete MEC111, Machine Processes 1 and MEC 175, Equipment Installation from their Program of Study. To add CET 111 as a pre-requisite to CET 211. A revision for the Electrical Engineering Technology certificate, Specialization in Integrated Systems Technology Certificate. Add ELC 171E, Motors and Controls and MEC 130, Mechanisms and delete MEC111, Machine Processes 1. The committee requested that technology be removed from the name of their certificate. Nina Neal provided the committee with a background on the Paralegal requests. The committee reviewed and approved requests from Paralegal Technology. To move LEX 210 from technical electives and place in required courses for the Paralegal Diploma. To move LEX 150 from technical electives and place in major requirements for the Paralegal Diploma. Add three new Common Course Library (CCL) Courses: LEX 291, Immigration Law; LEX 290, Intellectual Property Law and LEX 289, Constitutional Law to the NC CCL and place in the Paralegal Program of Study as technical electives. 8. The committee reviewed and approved a request from Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration. To ELC 111, Introduction to Electricity as an either / or option with AHR 111, HVACR Electricity to these four certificates and to the Program of Study. The committee reviewed and approved a request from Construction Management. To add SST 110, Intro to Sustainability to the Construction Management with a Specialization in Entry Level Construction Supervision certificate. 3 10. The committee reviewed and tabled two requests from Mechanical Engineering. A Program of Study Revision to add MEC 155, ISC 120 and ISC 220 as technical electives. And a new certificate, Sustainable Manufacturing.
