Checking the -answers
For most of us, exams are scary and
distressing. They are characterized by
those sweaty palms or
‘going blank’ the moment we see the paper,
followed by an insane urge to flee…………
Is there a BETTER WAY
to tackle the exams?
doing well in an exam is a combination of
knowing how to tackle the paper and
knowing the material that goes into it.
Assuming that you have more or less taken care
of the latter,
these surprisingly simple how-to-techniques
combined with right attitude will
put you in control of the situation.
There are three ways to attack
1.Start with the first question and keep going, question by
question, until you reach the end.
Try not to leave a question until you have answered it fully.
2.Answer every easy question-the ones you know the answers
to without any thinking at allot those requiring the simplest
calculations-first, then go back to attempt the difficult ones.
3.Answer the tough questions first, then go back and do the
easy ones.
None of these three options are
inherently right or wrong.
Each may work for different individuals.
The first is, in one sense, the quickest,
in that no time is wasted by reading
through the whole test trying to pick out
either the easiest or more difficult
questions.
Presuming that you don’t allow yourself to get
stumped by a single question and spend
an inordinate amount of time on it,
it is probably the method most of you should employ.
However, leave questions that confuse
you from the outset to the end and
allocate enough time to ANSWER THEM.
check all your answers thoroughly.
The second approach ensures that
you will workout correct answers
by tackling the sure ones first.
Presuming that you knock those off relatively fast
, it may also give you more time
to work on questions that you find particularly vexing
.
The last approach is to attack the toughest questions
first, and then work your way down the difficulty
ladder.
This may sound like a strange strategy,
so let’s understand the underlying psychology.
If time pressure starts getting you towards the end
of the test, you will be able to zip through the
easiest questions
-and many of them-in the limited time left.
Besides, by the end of the test, one’s mind is less likely
to be working as well as at the beginning.
And that’s the major benefit of this approach-when
you are ‘most awake’ and ‘alert’, you are tackling
questions that require
the maximum analysis, thinking, interpretation etc.
And when you are most tired –near the end-you can
run through the easy questions
without much effort.
Is there any special better
way to tackle MCQ?

Remember that…………
It is better to get one question
wrong
and complete three others
than get one right and leave three
blank.
Remember,
it’s a myth that teachers are impressed by
length. A well-organised, well constructed,
specific answer to the question will always
fetch you better marks

Are the physical factors
important on the day of
examination?
Many people underestimate physical factors
when it comes to intellectual challenges
ahead. If you're tired you are most likely to
perform worse than you're capable of while
fully rested. Same goes for food. Many
people skip breakfast, whether it is due to
nerves or 'I'm late' reasons. You should eat,
even if it is just a little, it will help your
organism and brain to function at full
capacity.
Don't overeat yourself or eat heavy things. You're
bound to feel sleepy .
Is
self
confidence
important?
People often lack confidence and
have low self esteem. They are
underachievers but in my opinion
they are so just because they allow it
to be so.
see yourself as a person who can
make it.
What if my exam goes
bad?
Don't fret, move on.
Your own judgment of how you did in an
exam rarely correlates with your result.
Students can come out thinking they have
failed and get a distinction - and vice
versa.
Relax, enjoy yourself, recharge you
batteries and get on with your exam and
life..
All of these tips will work for some
people, some of these tips will work
for everybody. In the end, see this
advice as a part of the process of
building your own style for success.
Good luck, we hope
you do well.
Thanks…..
