An Important Message From Mrs. Russell

Dear Parents,
Your child may have already told you that I will out for surgery for three weeks. My last day
will be Friday, November 20th. When students return from Thanksgiving break (November 30th)
they will have a substitute until winter break (December 18th). Please be assured that your
children will be in safe and capable hands during my absence. I will still be doing all grading
and other necessary tasks from home. I will also still be available through email if needed.
During my time away students will still be expected to work as usual. Every Monday they will
be given packets with each daily assignment included. The packets will be due each Friday. If
students are absent, they should complete the daily assignment as if they were at school.
Students will be expected to keep up with their packets through the week. However, if a
student misplaces a packet there will be extra, so all will not be lost. Bell work and vocab
tests will continue as usual.
Students have also been given their quarterly book report assignment, which is due December
14. As usual, there will be no late work accepted for the book report assignment. We will also
have semester testing on December 17th and 18th.
I am working diligently to make sure each of the assignments are posted on my school
webpage. The book report is already up and other assignments will soon follow, with the
exception of tests. I firmly believe that technology will keep us connected during these few
short weeks. I will also be skyping with each class at least once while I’m away. Please feel
free to email me at any time with questions or concerns.
Thank you for the privilege of teaching your child,
Mrs. Russell
