The agenda contains the statistics for completion rates by Division, in addition to a list of the missing course SLOs. Industry and Technology is working on having adjuncts write and submit their SLOs. Ray Lewis is following through on the individual courses and editing adjunct work. In HSA, Kelly Holt is working with rad tech and is pushing faculty to turn in the SLOs they have already written but not reported. HSA held several SLO workshops and only a few people showed up. Turn over in Deans and leadership has made the process difficult. In Fine Arts, Harrison Storms will speak to the Dean about Art 109, a new class. In Business, Donna Grogan will check on the missing classes. II) Core Competency Assessment “SLO” questions will be included on the the student campus climate survey which will be administered on-line in the next couple weeks. Students will be contacted through their campus email. Questions 19-22 will focus on SLOs Questions may also be added to other student surveys conducted on a bi-yearly basis. A draft of a separate student survey focused on “Communication and Comprehension” is in the agenda. This Communication and Comprehension survey will be a paper survey conducted in class. Classes which were mapped to C & C will be selected randomly for surveying. Discussion of the Communication and Comprehension survey draft o This brief, 3 question survey will be easy for faculty to administer and students to complete. o Draft changes were discussed and the questions were finalized. o The questions measure students’ perception of their competence in these areas, but will be triangulated with their grades to check for accuracy in students’ perceptions. o Irene Graff suggested that the questions could be tested in classes for student feedback. III) Data Analysis Training Jenny is preparing data analysis training workshops for faculty. It was suggested that the workshops define success and retention and explain how outcomes can be added in response to the data. There is concern that these workshops have low attendance.
