Julius Caesar Character Journals
Students created a Roman identity for themselves. For each Act of the play Julius Caesar, the students
will write a 100-word journal entry from the point of view of the character they created. They should
consider how normal citizens of Rome would react to and be affected by events in the play.
There will be 5 journal entries in total, each worth 100 points for a total of 500 points.
Journal 1: February 15, 44 BC
What was happening in your character’s life during the events of Act 1? In Act 1, key events include the

become king.
