CHANGE IN CATALOG DESCRIPTION; COURSE OUTLINE REVISED TO
MEET TITLE 5 REQUIREMENTS
1. Art 5B – History of Asian Art – China, Korea, and Japan
Current Status/Proposed Change
This course, the second in a series of two on the history of Asian art, Survey
surveys of the arts of ancient China, Japan, and Korea their influence on the
historical development of Korean and Japanese art forms throughout from the
Neolithic period through the19th century. Asian cultures and philosophies and
their relation to the developing art forms. in relation to cultural, political,
religious, and philosophical contexts. It traces the transmission of cultural ideas
and art forms from one civilization to another and considers the effect of Western
art’s historical methodologies on the study and appreciation of Asian art and
culture.

Enrollment Limitation), CATALOG DESCRIPTION; COURSE OUTLINE
REVISED TO MEET TITLE 5 REQUIREMENTS
Current Status/Proposed Change
1. Music 60abcd – Woodwinds Woodwind Ensembles
Grading Method: Letter grade only or credit/no credit option
Recommended Preparation: ability to perform music of moderate difficulty on
standard band/orchestra woodwind instrument None
Enrollment Limitation: audition (previous band or orchestra experience or ability
to perform music of moderate difficulty on a standard woodwind instrument)
Rehearsal and public performance of woodwind ensemble literature including
These ensembles rehearse and perform literature written for combinations of
woodwinds in choirs of like instruments (all flutes, or clarinets, or saxophones)
and mixed instruments. The ensembles include duets, trios, quartets, quintets and
larger works ensembles, and may be combined with non-woodwind instruments
to complete the instrumentation appropriate to the selected literature.
Performances are held on campus and in the community.

Students will attend the Laboratory laboratory for additional hours as required in
Music 60abcd relating to elements of performance including, but not limited to,
additional rehearsal time, participation in public performance, and observation of
performance through concert attendance at selected musical events at El Camino
College offered by the El Camino College Center for the Arts.
