Welcome
I. Stephanie Rodriguez welcomed everyone back for the fall 2011 semester. Heard
President of College cutting classes. Anyone here from Compton?
1. Introduction
Stephanie introduced 2 new Full-Time Faculty:
Renee Newell, Welding
William Melendez, Fire Academy
She also introduced the new Associate Dean Daniel Schrader. Mr. Shrader came
from DWP. Dan has also taken classes here at ECC. Dan has lots of management
and technical experience. The agenda item will be going to the Board. Dan will
start on Sept. 12, 2011.
2. Service Awards Recognition
Two faculty received service awards:
V ic Cafarchia-15 years
Patty Gebert-25 years
Two classified will receive service awards later in the year:
Carol Quiroz-25 years
Lois Peck-30 years
3. Division Goals for 2011-2012
Stephanie said the division will be able to hire faculty every year
All the computers will be on the same software version. There have been 3
different versions every year and most of the computers are working.
Equipment Software-400K for supplies.
CTE has money, need to tap into these resources.
Program Review/Plan Builder/SLO’s-big accomplishment
214 courses still ned to be reviewed.
Curriculum-Robin amazing. Priority accreditation. Always look for money to get
equipment.
Buildings-shop building (Welding, Atec, Acrp, AC) lot of effort. Shop 12/20122013 completed.
MB&A may affect.
January 2013 for TECh MCS remodel. Meeting all departments for MCS this fall.
Concern in MCS-not remodel and run, shut program down. Worked out, no
shutdown.
II. Budget Overview
Looking at fall cuts. Talking to faculty. Will keep posted about mid-year cuts.

FTES-no growth mode
Budget-should have budget summaries by next week. Renee can’t find from last
year. Get packet (Help Me to Help You) from Lois.
Paty-no work study? Check with Lois. Don’t have other money.
Doing good job.
Neglected to introduce 2 P/T faculty-Glen Chapple, ECHT
Matt Griffin, MTT 2 (Grant)
Bill Melendez replaced Ken Mays. Started Fire Department on Indian Reservation.
III. Faculty Reps
1. Ray-lot of fear for SLO. Found typically take 10 minutes for SLO and 20
minutes for assessment. Have six programs not completed. Assessment. Keep
data, source for assessment. Would like to have done this semester. Will work
with you. Problem, curricunet SLO had problems. Problem fixed-Ray getting
training (facilitator) and will train you. Plan is to one on one basic to do
together in system. Create mapping document. Have with you to refer to. Pull
what you wrote and rated (4 or 3). Appreciate to work with points of contact.
Call Ray or email if you need help. He will help you. Will with ARCH and
FTEC.
2. Vivian-(pick a date) course review. Learning like you are. Very simple.
Handouts, if your name is on it, see Vivian. Complete review/revision.
Complete by date(s) listed. Curricunet is easy. We will help you. Use Vic’s
computer. Very easygoing. Math-not so good. Able to take to qualify.
Lee- FTEC 3-new on the agenda.
Craig-new certificate on horizon.
(Pick your date)-idea of class, pick date.
Where is TMATH now. New one Steve wrote, where is it. Have to look for.
Our Division did well, but went to Sacramento, realize there somewhere.
Complete by dates, will be able to track.
SR-sent to Math (Don G. faculty) asking for feedback looks good. Steve
developed Math in majors.
Vic adds Math 12 in place of TMATH 1. “Elementary Algebra for
Technicians”.
Other ET-1 Greg, Ross working on and have certificate to incorporate ACR,
ECHT.
Merriel-steps down from SLO’s to VP Education Policies.
Charlene Smith-Cosmetology.
Faculty Subs-make office aware.
Rep for textbook, do not accept gifts.
Steve-private company will do Demo and give equipment. Talk to SR.
Online Grades-changes. Served on petitions committee. Roster incomplete,
grades not submitted. Had a problem. Student not in class, did not attend.
Have sign in sheet. Keep grades for 2 years.
Valencia-welcome, will be going to classes. Working with CAA program.
Eric-congratulations-MTT at fill rate of 100%.
Elena got new computer.

Nick Nickolin’s wife passed away.
Special acknowledgement as faculty coordinator.
