Lesson: Value of Castration Vocabulary Words and Definitions 1. Castration: The removal of the testicles (the male sex glands) or a procedure that prevents the male from delivering sperm. 2. Androgens: The hormones that control the appearance and development of masculine sex characteristics. 3. Testosterone: The primary androgen (hormone) produced in the testicles. 4. Libido: The drive to mate. 5. Atrophy: The shrinking of an organ, tissue, or other body parts. (i.e. The testicle atrophies in about 6 weeks when you use an emasculatome (burdizzo).)
