CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE Timeline for New Curriculum Programs (Assuming a Fall Semester Start) Timeframe Activity August 1st Phase I and II of the Road Map to Develop New Programs submitted to Lori Alexander in the Office of the Vice President for Learning and Workforce Development (VPLWD) Mid-August Phase I and II of the Road Map to Develop New Programs presented to the VPLWD (Lori Alexander will schedule meeting) Sept. 1st The VPLWD takes request to the President Mid-September State Program Planning Notification sent; Prepare State Program Application Packet October 1st Program Application submitted to Amy Bruining in the Office of the VPLWD November Application presented to CPCC Curriculum Committee (Program application packet needs to be distributed 1-2 weeks in advance to the committee) December (1st week) Application reviewed by CPCC Instruction subcommittee of Board of Trustees (Program synopsis describing the new degree needs to be sent to the subcommittee prior to the meeting) January Application reviewed by CPCC full Board of Trustees February 1st Application submitted to State February Entered in CPCC catalog as pending State approval March Presented to State Board (1st review) Substantive Change submitted to SACS April Presented to State Board (2nd review) *Note – new programs to the State must be reviewed at two State Board Meetings May 1st Anticipated State Approval of program Enter information into NC Star; enter electronic program of study and request new courses from the State; then enter Course Origination Documents (CODs).
