WHEREAS, It appears that there is a lack of safety devices at campus crosswalk
locations; and
WHEREAS, The risk of accidents between vehicles and pedestrians could be reduced
by the addition of new safety devices; and
WHEREAS, The current status of campus crosswalk locations has allowed accidents

and fails to adequately alert drivers of pedestrians occupying the
7
crosswalk; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, By the Student Government of Wright State University here
10
assembled, that:

(1) It is recommended to add additional safety devices including but not
12
limited to:
13
(A)Upgrading light poles at crosswalk locations to high output LED as
14
well as adding additional light poles to locations with a lack of
15
sufficient lighting.

(B) Install motion activated LED indicators on signage and imbed
17
LED indicators into the pavement before the busiest crosswalk
18
locations.

(C) Modify crosswalks with high reflective “Continental” pattern
20
markings if they are not raised,
21
(D) Insert 12x36 crosswalk signage in the center of the traffic lanes in
22
high traffic areas.
