Use lower case letters (a., b.…zz. )to designate competencies/skills/issues On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: a) Develop a structured collection of student work created across time, framed by reflection and enriched through collaboration that has as the ultimate aim the advancement of student learning. b) Compile information through a portfolio in each of the following five skill sets as a Therapeutic Activity Aide: 1. Therapeutic Interpersonal Skills 2. Developmental Psychology or Human Development 3. Therapeutic Activities (Occupational Therapy) 4. Physical Therapy 5. Speech/Language Therapy c) Provide a summary statement (captions) for each section of the portfolio that reflects how successfully the participant has met the purpose of the course; growth and change in the participant over time; and includes a varied selection of work, not just a sampling of only the best work. Captions should include: o What the document is o Why it is evidence, and o What it is evidence of d) Select appropriate evidence for the portfolio which may include: assignments, observations, tests and assessments, student work, philosophical and goal statements, self assessments and written commentaries, letters of recommendation, formal evaluations, certificates and other indications of applications and effectiveness. Portfolio documents are not limited to formal papers. Notes, drafts, journal and diary entries, sketches, drawings, photographs, audiotapes, videotapes, models and electronic data are also possible items. e) Present selected items from the completed portfolio to the class and invited community members to demonstrate synthesis of knowledge and skills.Use visual aides (posters), technology (PowerPoint) and handouts to disseminate information in presentations. f) Reflect culturally appropriate practices in the context of family and society. 7.
