Reasons for this curriculum action:
One of four selected upper division courses for the Proposed baccalaureate degree in Applied Business and Information
Technology (ABIT). MKT 300, Principles of Marketing, satisfies the business core requirements at nearly all
baccalaureate institutions. It is currently taught at UH Manoa, UH Hilo, and UHWO and was chosen as one of the first
course offerings because it should be easily transferable to satisfy a business core requirement at these and other schools
even if the ABIT degree does not materialize. MCC currently has staff capable of teaching this course.
