General Course Objectives Music 122c is a continuation of MUS 121c and continues to present the essentials of piano playing to the beginner. The emphasis is on the presentation of concepts which can be deepened through independent study. 6. Student Learning Outcomes For assessment purposes, these are linked to #7. Increase individual hand control Present repertoire development Know many of the great works in piano literature Present a solid practice plan Perform 12 major scales Know how to play all 12 major and minor chords by reading their letter name Demonstrate proper fingering technique at the intermediate level Understand the rudiments of basic chromatic harmony Demonstrate knowledge of complex key signatures Demonstrate knowledge of complex meter and time signatures 7.
