1.1
Sample is assessed according to testable characteristics.
Range:
1.2
micron, colour, yield, vegetable matter, bulk;
for Merino wool - length, strength.
Sample is assessed according to untested characteristics.
Range:
breed - halfbred, crossbred, merino;
age - lamb, hogget, ewe;
category - bellies, pieces, fleece;
quality - micron, yield, length;
grade - style, colour, vegetable matter, other faults.
1.3
Typing decision written in draft catalogue is made on the basis of the
assessments.
1.4
Subjective assessment of tested characteristics matches test results.
1.5
Sample is re-tested according to the subjective assessment.

Decisions made on receipt of the re-tested result resolve any discrepancies
between subjective assessment and test result.

Range:
recent wool sales, prices, trends, volume and types of wool, wool
stockpile, wool in pipeline, overseas exchange rates.

Calculation of greasy price is based on clean price valuation for that type and
the yield.
2.3
Estimate written in draft catalogue is in accordance with pricing decision made.
2.4
Prices offered by exporters for same or like wool types are consistent and
selling price is in line with valuation.
