Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of:
inventory control procedures, stock ordering, parts receiving and storage,
and stocktaking for trawler fish processing on board parts stock systems.
This unit standard is designed for people working in, or intending to work in, a
seafood processing plant aboard a fishing vessel.

systems.
Performance criteria
2.1
Information required to ensure accurate ordering of stock is identified.

Parts sourced from a supplier are identified as best suiting the needs of the
company and the machine.

of supply, spare parts manual, machine manual.
lead time, price, quality, minimum order quantity, freight costs.

requirements.
Element 3
Demonstrate knowledge of parts receiving and storage for trawler fish processing on board
parts stock systems.
Performance criteria
3.1
Parts delivered correspond to those detailed on the packing slip and the
purchase order, and disparities are reported to the supervisor.
3.2
Condition of the goods supplied is checked before taking on board, and any
damage reported to the provider.
3.3
Parts are placed in the designated storage location.

Stock records are adjusted to reflect the new stock level.

accordance with company requirements.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
