Elements and Performance Criteria element 1 Demonstrate knowledge of roadmarking paint applicators and the current requirements for testing them. performance criteria 1.1 TNZ T/08 is described in terms of its scope and certification requirements. 1.2 Maintenance of compliance is explained in accordance with TNZ T/08. Range: 1.3 includes but is not limited to – renewal, confirmation of compliance. Applicator types are described in accordance with TNZ T/08. Range: A-type paint, B-type pedestrian, B-type operator-mounted, B-type umbilical, B1-type paint. 1.4 Requirements for test sites and application materials are described in accordance with TNZ T/08. 1.5 Test site layout and function are described in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. 1.6 Test plate and bead test pads are described in terms of requirements for identification. Range: shims traceable to National Standards, internal calibration results for elcometer, electronic scales, stopwatch, distance measuring equipment. element 3 Inspect roadmarking applicators and evaluate non-painting operations. Range: A-type paint and at least one of – B-type pedestrian, B-type operator-mounted, B-type umbilical, B1-type paint. performance criteria 3.1 Visual inspection of applicators is demonstrated in accordance with TNZ T/08. Range: 3.2 includes but is not limited to – identification, registration, warrant or certificate of fitness, fire control equipment. Non-painting operations are evaluated in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. Range: includes but is not limited to – power, control. Range: 4.2 Bead application tests are conducted in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. Range: 4.3 equipment includes but is not limited to – bead test pad, sand. equipment includes but is not limited to – bead test pads, electronic scales. Paint application tests are conducted in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. Range: equipment includes but is not limited to – test plates, nondestructive thickness gauge. 4.4 Width determination tests, using a steel ruler, are conducted in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. 4.5 Speed determination test is conducted in accordance with TNZ T/08 and company requirements. Range: includes but is not limited to – test plates, stopwatch, calculation by calculator. 4.6 Segment spacing is measured and calculated in accordance with TNZ T/08. 4.7 Straightness is assessed and calculated in accordance with TNZ T/08.
