Elements and Performance Criteria element 1 Demonstrate knowledge of the factors and practices for promoting good poultry health. performance criteria 1.1 Factors contributing to good poultry health, and their implications for overall poultry health, are described in accordance with in-house procedures. Range: 1.2 Husbandry practices that promote good poultry health are described in terms of current industry best practices. Range: 1.3 may include but is not limited to – nutrition, management, environment, breeding and selection, stress, hygiene, predisposing factors, immune response, vaccinations, treatments, drugs, quarantine, poultry unit biosecurity; evidence is required for at least three. hygiene, biosecurity, environmental management. Control measures which aim to prevent the introduction of disease to the poultry facility are identified, and the significance of those diseases are described in terms of their effect on poultry performance and productivity.
