Element 1
Catch, pick up, and carry poultry.
Performance criteria
1.1
Poultry are caught and restrained in accordance with welfare codes and inhouse procedures.
1.2
Poultry are picked up in a manner that minimises risk of injury in accordance
with welfare codes and in-house procedures.
1.3
Poultry are lifted and carried in accordance with welfare codes and in-house
procedures.
Element 2
Hold poultry.
Performance criteria
2.1
Poultry are held and presented for husbandry procedures in accordance with
welfare codes and in-house procedures.
Range
2.2
evidence is required for a minimum of two husbandry procedures.
Poultry are held in a manner that avoids undue discomfort or risk of injury in
accordance with welfare codes and in-house procedures.
Element 3
Place poultry into and remove from containers and/or housing systems.
Performance criteria
3.1
Poultry are placed into and removed from containers and/or housing systems in
accordance with welfare codes and in-house procedures.
3.2
Poultry density in containers and/or housing systems is in accordance with
welfare codes and in-house procedures.

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
