employer. These include site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures,
job procedures, and procedures for the handling and disposal of materials and waste.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Method of sample preparation is determined from test requirements and verified
with the metallurgist.
tests may include but are not limited to – grain size, inclusion
analysis, fractographic analysis, scanning electron microscope
examination, microstructural phase determination.

Specimen is protected from damage, identified, and labelled, and details are
recorded according to worksite procedures.

description of shape and size, material hardness, and the required
section.

Specimen is cut and mounted in accordance with test requirements and
relabelled to ensure traceability.
2.3
Specimen is ground, polished, etched, and preserved according to metallurgical
test requirements.
