These include site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, job procedures, and procedures for the handling and disposal of materials and waste. 3 Assessment Information a All activities must comply with relevant legislative and/or regulatory requirements, which include, but are not limited to those listed in the references. b All work practices must meet documented worksite procedures (where these exceed code) for personal, product and worksite safety. c Demonstrated competence in using measuring instruments and interpreting technical drawings will be useful to those seeking credit for this unit standard. Evidence requirements Competenz SSB Code 101571 New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 NZQA registered unit standard 2380 version 6 Page 2 of 3 1.1 Sampling procedure for identifying defective castings is applied in accordance with worksite procedures. 1.2 Castings are inspected and measured for conformance with component specifications. 1.3 Any non-conforming castings are identified and processed in accordance with worksite procedures. 1.4 Documentation for inspection is completed in accordance with worksite procedures. Outcome 2 Test castings for possible defects and complete documentation. Evidence requirements 2.1 Castings are tested for surface defects in accordance with worksite procedures. Range dye penetrant, magnetic particle. 2.2 Casting is hardness tested for conformance with specifications in accordance with worksite procedures. 2.3 Castings are pressure tested for porosity in accordance with customer requirements. 2.4 Casting testing to specifications is arranged in accordance with worksite procedures. Range 2.5 may include but is not limited to – physical, chemical, casting integrity. Documentation for testing is completed in accordance with worksite procedures.
