People credited with this unit standard are able to explain the content of an environmental management plan for a resource recovery site. Classification Resource Recovery > Resource Recovery Theory Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to: Biosecurity Act 1993; Conservation Act 1987; Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996; Ozone Layer Protection Act 1996; Resource Management Act 1991; local authority bylaws. 2 The environmental management plans must be consistent with national environmental standards, regional policy statements, and regional plans prepared under the Resource Management Act 1991. 3 Assessment against this unit standard must take place in the context of a resource recovery park, transfer station, landfill site, or the resource recovery area of a commercial or industrial site. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Explain the content of an environmental management plan for a resource recovery site. Evidence requirements 1.1 Purposes of the plan are identified and explained. 1.2 The explanation identifies responsibilities for ensuring the criteria of the plan are achieved. Range 1.8 Procedures for record keeping are identified and explained in terms of requirements for an audit trail. 1.9 Procedures for environmental audit and management reviews are identified and explained in relation to level of individual responsibility.
