Performance criteria 1.1 Safety checks are carried out on rolling stock in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range 1.2 may include but is not limited to – tow bar, tow hitch, securing mechanisms, wheels and tyres, roller bed, turntable, turntable release foot pedal, steering lock, brakes, no rubbish caught on equipment, weather covers. Procedures for dealing with damaged rolling stock are explained in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range procedures may include but are not limited to – reporting damage, removal of damaged equipment from operational area. Element 2 Prepare rolling stock. Performance criteria 2.1 Rolling stock is connected to and disconnected from a train in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range 2.2 connections secured, locking and unlocking of steering arms. Rolling stock is set up for load in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range panels or covers set in correct position, number of trolleys for the load. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
