If a group includes participants with a range of disabilities and communication needs the facilitator must accommodate these needs and may require augmentative or adaptive communication strategies. A group is not necessarily limited to people with disabilities. Examples may include a group of staff or a group of people with disabilities that meets for a specific purpose or common interest. 6 All performances must meet the standards as set out in NZS 8134:2001 Health and Disability Sector Standards and any subsequent amendments.
