Performance criteria 1.1 Description identifies the role and function of bodies that govern the New Zealand racing industry. Range Government, Minister of Racing, Judicial Control Authority, Totalisator Agency Board, New Zealand Racing Board. Element 2 Demonstrate knowledge of the harness racing related organisations, roles, and administrative responsibilities. Performance criteria 2.1 Description of Harness Racing New Zealand Inc and racing clubs identifies their structure and functions, and administrative responsibilities. Range 2.2 Description identifies the statutory licensing requirements and conditions for personnel involved in standardbred breeding and harness racing in accordance with Harness Racing New Zealand Inc requirements. Range 2.3 includes but is not limited to – starter, judge, trainer, horse-person, stablehand. Description identifies forms available for the administration of the industry. Range 2.4 Harness Racing New Zealand Inc – President, Executive, General Manager, Harness Racing New Zealand Inc staff; Racing Clubs – Club President, Club Committee, Club Members. includes but is not limited to – licences, leases, registrations, stable returns. Description of the associated bodies of harness racing identifies their structure. functions, and administrative responsibilities. Performance criteria 3.1 Description of the Harness Racing Weekly outlines its contents and function. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
