People credited with this unit standard are able to: match
adhesive with product specifications; apply adhesive and
join components; and use safe handling and storage
procedures. This unit standard is for operatives using
various adhesives and carrying out the combining operations
used in the footwear and allied trades.

special notes:
Company procedures for dealing with solvents and
adhesives, including the prominent display and/or availability
of written handling and storage procedures, are assumed to
conform to current Occupational Health and Safety
regulations, including the use of solvents and adhesives only
in company designated areas.
Company safety requirements conform to the Health and
Safety in Employment Act 1992.
