NZQA registered unit standard 1325 version 7 Page 1 of 3 Title Establish product design and job specifications for industrial textile fabrication Level 4 Credits 12 Purpose This unit standard is for people who work in the industrial textile fabrication industry. People credited with this unit standard are able to: obtain customer requirements; and produce product design and job specifications for customer product. Classification Industrial Textile Fabrication > Industrial Textile Fabrication Core Skills Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to – the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; Fair Trading Act 1986; Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and replacements. 2 Appropriate health and safety procedures must be followed in accordance with workplace and legislative requirements for all tasks leading to assessment of this standard. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used throughout operations in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer’s instructions. 3 Definitions Company procedures refer to all documented policies and procedures of the candidate’s employer at the time of training including, but not limited to, those relating to health, safety, environment, quality, and operations. Materials – components and sundry items required for industrial textile jobs. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Obtain customer requirements. Evidence requirements 1.1 Product function and aesthetic requirements are determined in accordance with customer requirements. Outcome 2 Produce product design and job specifications for customer product. Evidence requirements 2.1 Dimensions for the product are determined in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures. 2.2 Product is designed and drawings made in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures. Range 2.3 Job specifications are set for the product to meet the functional, economic manufacturing, legislative, local body, and environmental requirements. Range 2.4 drawings – scale, freehand, orthographic, pictorial. may include but is not limited to – type of job, allocated time, material and treatments, fittings and attachments, seams and hems, packing and packaging, engineering consultation and detail, appropriate local authority consents. Bills of labour and material are produced in accordance with company procedures.
