Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Move deer into and around yards under direct supervision.
Performance criteria
1.1
Deer are moved with minimum stress and with least risk of injury to themselves,
other deer, or people.
1.2
Behaviour of deer is anticipated and controlled with minimum stress, and with
least risk of injury to themselves, other deer, or people.
1.3
Measures are implemented, while holding deer in yards, to avoid stress and
injury and to ensure settling in period, as directed by the supervisor.
1.4
Safety equipment and appropriate clothing and footwear are used as directed.
Range
safety equipment may include but is not limited to – shield, helmet.
Element 2
Load and unload deer under direct supervision.
Performance criteria
2.1
Loading and unloading are carried out under direct supervision.
2.2
Loading and unloading of deer are carried out with least risk of injury to
themselves, other deer, or people, and as directed by the supervisor.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
