They include legislative and regulatory requirements which may apply across the company or to a specific site. Requirements are documented in the company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents. Manufacturer’s instructions may include specifications, installation, handling, use and maintenance instructions and safety data sheets. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Determine and format cost records for civil plant, equipment, and vehicles. Performance criteria 1.1 Historical information on plant, equipment, and vehicles is determined from company records. Range 1.2 cost to operate, reliability records, performance outputs. Information is formatted for analysis in accordance with company requirements. Range may include – graph, table, pictorial format. Element 2 Compare actual and forecast productivity outputs. Performance criteria 2.1 Productivity outputs are determined from manufacturer’s instructions. Range 2.2 cost to operate, performance output, time. Actual and forecast productivity outputs are compared and recorded in accordance with company requirements. Element 3 Identify and compare options for civil plant, equipment, and vehicles. Performance criteria 3.1 Current usage of plant, equipment, and vehicles is determined from company records. 3.2 Alternative use options are identified and compared in terms of productivity. 3.3 Recommendation is made on suitability of plant, equipment, and vehicles for company requirements. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
