People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: current fashion trends for a beauty therapy service; and the history of beauty therapy services and related products. This is a core component of all beauty therapy services and underpins performance in all practical aspects of the trade. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of current fashion trends for a beauty therapy service. Range one beauty therapy service. Evidence requirements 1.1 Sources of fashion trend information for a beauty therapy service are identified. Range 1.2 may include but is not limited to – internet, magazines, fashion stores, television, movies. Current fashion trends in relation to a beauty therapy service are identified and illustrated in a graphic form using images sourced from fashion trend information. Range Outcome 2 Demonstrate knowledge of the history of beauty therapy services and related products. Evidence requirements 2.1 Beauty therapy services are described in terms of significant milestones in their history. Range 2.2 a minimum of two services; a minimum of two historical milestones per service. Beauty therapy products related to the chosen beauty therapy services are described in terms of significant milestones in their history. Range a minimum of three products per service; a minimum of two historical milestones per product.
