Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate
knowledge of: marina pontoon and finger maintenance; marina
equipment, plant, and machinery maintenance; marina building
and shed maintenance; maintenance for utility boats used at
marinas; marina landscaping maintenance; maintenance of
outdoor marina structures; and systems for marina
infrastructure maintenance.

Outcome 1
Demonstrate knowledge of marina pontoon and finger maintenance.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Components of the pontoons and fingers requiring maintenance are identified in
accordance with marina’s operational procedures.
1.2
Deterioration of marina components is identified and described in terms of
deterioration type and situation.
1.3
Pontoon and finger maintenance tasks are described in accordance with
marina’s operational procedures.
Outcome 2
Demonstrate knowledge of marina equipment, plant, and machinery maintenance.
Range
at least five different items of marina equipment, plant, machinery.

2.1
Marina equipment, plant and machinery requiring maintenance is identified in
accordance with marina’s operational procedures.

Maintenance requirements and tasks are identified for marina equipment, plant,
and machinery in accordance with marina’s operational procedures.

Demonstrate knowledge of marina building and shed maintenance.

Maintenance of marina buildings and sheds is described in terms of maintaining
safe, functional and tidy operation.
Outcome 4
Demonstrate knowledge of maintenance for utility boats used at marinas.

outboard powered boats under 5m.

4.1
Components of utility boats that require maintenance are identified in
accordance with marina’s operational procedures.
4.2
Maintenance requirements and tasks are described for each component in
terms of maintaining safe, functional and tidy utility boat operation.
