Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Describe the requirements, and prepare tuberculin (Tb) reactor valuation contracts, for dairy and beef cattle. Performance criteria 1.1 Dairy cattle are valued in accordance with age, gender, and current market value, the Cattle Tb Tester Guidelines, and Maximum Valuation Limits for Tb Reactors. Range 1.2 dairy cattle – evidence is required for at least six categories specified by age and gender. Beef cattle are valued in accordance with current market value, the Cattle Tb Tester Guidelines, and Maximum Valuation Limits for Tb Reactors. Range breeding females, rising one year old females, rising one year old males, rising two year old females, rising two year old males, breeding bulls; evidence is required for at least four. 1.3 The process and timeframe for the valuation, transport and slaughter of dairy and beef cattle purchased by AHB are described in accordance with Cattle Tb Tester Guidelines and National Bovine Tuberculosis Pest Management Strategy, National Operational Plan: 1 July 2005 – 30 June 2013, Policy 8. 1.4 Reactor valuation contracts for dairy and beef cattle are prepared in accordance with Cattle Tb Tester Guidelines. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
