This unit standard is for people working at management level in
the cleaning industry.
People credited with this standard are able to: produce a quote
for a cleaning contract; negotiate a cleaning contract; and
schedule and roster work.

1
Competence demonstrated during assessment against this standard must comply
with the requirements of:
Consumer Guarantees Act 1993;
Employment Relations Act 2000;
Fair Trading Act 1986;
Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992;
Holidays Act 2003;
Minimum Wage Act 1983.

Definitions
Organisational requirements refers to instructions to staff on policy procedures and
methods relating to cleaning in the workplace (including health and safety) and the
application of any written procedures which are documented in memo or manual
format and are available in the workplace.
Contract specifications set down the tasks to be done and how often these tasks are
to be done.

the agreement being entered into.

Tender documents are completed within company and legislated guidelines.
2.4
Contract conditions are negotiated with the client.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
