People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify petrochemical well enhancement equipment; use well enhancement equipment at a petrochemical wellhead; and locate and use documentation and reporting procedures for well enhancement operations. Any queries can be directed to the NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (Incorporated) (MITO). 3 Evidence is required of one type of well enhancement. 4 Definitions Site requirements mean the site specific documented methods for performing work activities and include health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements. They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements. Well enhancement refers to operations such as wax cutting and acid washing. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Identify petrochemical well enhancement equipment. Performance criteria 1.1 Well enhancement equipment is located and its use explained in relation to site application. Range 1.2 sand filters, differential pressure cells, automatic wax cutting equipment, feeler gauges, corrosion inhibitors, gravel pack equipment, scale inhibitors. Well enhancement equipment functions are explained to identify the types of information relayed. Range pressure, temperature, flow. Element 2 Use well enhancement equipment at a petrochemical wellhead. Performance criteria 2.1 Well performance is assessed to determine the need to use well enhancement equipment. 2.2 Well enhancement equipment relevant to the conditions is selected in accordance with site and legislative requirements. 2.3 Potential hazards of incorrect application and operation of equipment and systems are identified, assessed, and controlled in accordance with site requirements and manufacturer’s recommendations. New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 9539 version 4 Page 3 of 3 2.4 Well enhancement equipment is operated safely in accordance with site and legislative requirements in accordance with site requirements and manufacturer’s recommendations. Element 3 Locate and use documentation and reporting procedures for well enhancement operations. Performance criteria 3.1 Standards for well enhancement and related documentation are used to ensure quality well enhancement operations. Range 3.2 test certificates, certification, standards for safety, standards for in service safety inspection and testing of equipment, identification tags, labels. General site equipment documentation and information are located and interpreted in relation to wellhead enhancement. Range manufacturer's information, equipment operating manuals, safety procedures, operating procedures, maintenance procedures. 3.3 Reporting procedures are followed to ensure the report includes all required information in accordance with site requirements. 3.4 Outcomes of the enhancement are evaluated and reported in accordance with site requirements. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
