Evidence requirements 1.1 The historical perspectives of mines rescue facilities are described in relation to extractive site disasters. 1.2 Details of the distribution of mines rescue facilities are described in relation to the geographical spread of extractive sites in New Zealand. Outcome 2 Describe the services provided by Mines Rescue Service and related hazards. Range surface, underground. Evidence requirements 2.1 Mines Rescue Service work is described in terms of services provided. Range emergency response, reconnaissance, assistance, maintenance of specialised rescue equipment, training, atmosphere monitoring, gas analysis, equipment recovery. Identified hazards related to Mines Rescue work are described in terms of their control and management. Outcome 3 Identify situations requiring a Mines Rescue Service response and describe procedures for initiating a Mines Rescue Service response. Evidence requirements 3.1 Situations that require a Mines Rescue Service response are identified. Range 3.2 evidence is required for a minimum of three examples. The procedures for initiating a Mines Rescue Service response are described in accordance with a given emergency.
