This unit standard is intended for people controlling aeronautical
engineering production activities.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate
an understanding of legislative demands and enterprise
procedures that apply to the aeronautical workplace; and ensure
compliance with legislative demands and enterprise procedures
in the aeronautical workplace.

Explanatory notes
1
All tasks are to be carried out in accordance with enterprise procedures, the
enterprise being the organisation carrying out the work. Enterprise procedures
referred to in this unit standard are the applicable procedures found in the following:
enterprise exposition; manufacturer publications; Government and local body
legislation; airworthiness authority requirements.

Industry may require the concurrent assessment of Unit 10802, Control the quality of
aeronautical engineering production activities.

Outcome 1
Demonstrate an understanding of legislative demands and enterprise procedures that apply
to the aeronautical workplace.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Airworthiness authority demands applicable to the activity being carried out are
identified and analysed.

Enterprise procedures applicable to the activity being carried out are identified and
analysed.

Government and local body regulations applicable to the activity being carried out
are identified and analysed.

Ensure compliance with legislative demands and enterprise procedures.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Work activities are monitored to a level that verifies compliance with legislative
demands and enterprise procedures.
2.2
Non-compliances with legislative demands and enterprise procedures are rectified
in accordance with enterprise procedures.
2.3
Staff are trained in accordance with enterprise procedures to a level that ensures
action is taken to preserve life in emergency situations.
Range
first aid, evacuation, fire, natural disaster.
2.4
Accidents and incidents are investigated to a level that enables causes to be
identified.
2.5
Action is taken to prevent recurrence of accidents and incidents in accordance
with enterprise procedures.
2.6
Procedures that will ensure compliance with enterprise procedures for contractors
and visitors to the worksite are implemented.

Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies
to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
CMR also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing
to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors
and assessors, and special resource requirements.
