They may be new to the industry, from school or another industry, or they may be already working in the industry without a qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to provide the roadmarking industry with people who can follow standard processes and work safely with others at a roadmarking site. Graduates will work under direct supervision. Graduate profile Graduates of this qualification will be able to: - Work safely and responsibly with others at a roadmarking site. Perform roadmarking works activities on a roadmarking site. Graduates with the Piloting optional strand will also be able to: - Perform piloting tasks at a roadmarking site. Graduates with the Raised Pavement Markers optional strand will also be able to: Outcome Statement - Remove and install raised pavement markers at a roadmarking site. Education pathway This qualification leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Roadmarking (Level 3) with an optional strand in Raised Pavement Markers [Ref: 3235], and/or the New Zealand Certificate in Roadmarking (Level 4) with an optional strand in Testing [Ref: 3236]. Employment pathway Graduates of this qualification may be employed as Roadmarking Assistants. Evidence requirements for assuring consistency Evidence may include: - Minimum standard of achievement and standards for grade endorsements Internal and external moderation processes and results relating to the assessment of graduate outcomes Feedback, and actions taken by the TEO in response to feedback Programme completion data and course results Any other relevant evidence. Qualification Reference 3234 © New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2015 Page 2 of 3 Credits 11 Transition information Replacement information This qualification replaced the National Certificate in Roadmarking (Assistant) (Level 2) with optional strands in Piloting, Raised Pavement Markers, Thermoplastics, and Transport [Ref: 1301]. People currently working towards the replaced qualification may either complete the requirements for that qualification by 31 December 2019 or transfer to this qualification. It is important to note that the replaced qualification is substantially different to the new qualification. The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2017. It is the intention of Infrastructure ITO that no existing trainee should be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements.
