This qualification is for people who are currently employed in a marina environment or for those who wish to work in a marina or boatyard environment. Graduates will be able to work unsupervised in marina operations or in a boatyard operations, dependent upon the strand completed. Graduates of this qualification may progress to: Employment pathway - New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) [Ref: 2456] - New Zealand Certificate in Project Management (Level 4) [Ref: 2462] Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to work in a range of unsupervised roles. These may include: - dock master - marina operations staff With further study and/or experience - boatyard or marina manager - Superyacht project manager Qualification specifications Qualification award This qualification may be awarded by any organisation with an approved programme of study or industry training programme. Training and programmes must reflect current practice and maintain currency with amendments to, and replacements of relevant legislation, regulations and Australia/New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS). Credits 20 Transition information Replacement information This qualification replaced the National Certificate in Marina Operations and Services (Level 3) with strands in Administration, and Operations [Ref: 1680]. People currently working towards the expiring national qualification may choose to complete that qualification or transfer their results to the replacement New Zealand qualification. The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2016. The last date for assessment against the replaced qualification is 31 December 2018. It is not intended that any existing candidates are disadvantaged by this review.
